You talk to me, and you work with me. I remove the drive and send it off for a recovery estimate.
I'm Avery Parker. Diversified Tech Solutions does not run the lab. We use a lab for the recovery.
What you pay
I charge for the time to remove the drive and get it sent. That can be on site or in the shop. A laptop in bad shape can take longer, so I quote the time before I start. That time is billed even if recovery is not possible, because the work is already done.
If recovery is not possible, you are not charged for the recovery.
If I handle the job for you, there is also a 10% surcharge. It covers the time and attention of working with the lab. I confirm the dollar amount in writing before I start.
If you would rather do it yourself
You can remove the drive, package it, and send it yourself, and work directly with the lab.
What this is not
This is not a promise that every drive can be recovered. It is not ransomware negotiation. When the problem is wider than one disk, see incident response.
