Summary
The extension is an advisory, read-only check of the tab you choose. It does not update WordPress, does not change the site, and does not read Google Search Console. With the default settings, checks stay in the browser. Remote lookups happen only after you save a key and turn that lookup on.

Page signals are read in the browser. The updates screen is requested only when you are already logged in to that site, using that site’s own session.

These calls do not include post content, passwords, or cookies. A failed or rate-limited call is shown as a failure, not as a clean result. The label is Safe Browsing / Web Risk status. It is not a Google ranking, a Search Console manual action, or a TerraScore.
